A creative retreat rooted in the woods, in silence, and in the tough exploration of love.
This one‑day Inner Landscape Retreat explores the emotional and spiritual terrain behind my song Your Love Is a Weapon, through the imagery of the mythic, wooded landscape that surrounds the farm where I live.
Here, in the shade of eucalyptus trees and oaks, in the half‑light of the fields and in the stillness of our old stone farmhouse, we will explore love in its many forms.
It is an invitation into the wild, unnamed magic that lives inside the human heart — the kind of love that transforms, disrupts, heals, and reveals.
Through writing, voice exploration, contemplative practice, and shared presence, you are invited to walk into the woods of your own inner landscape.
No musical experience is required. Only openness, curiosity, and a willingness to listen.
What You Will Experience
ENTERING THE WOODS
We will begin with a morning walk, and by listening to the woodland, think about the forest as a doorway to our own inner landscape.
HOW DO YOU SEE LOVE?
Sandy opens up his creative process, sharing how Your Love Is A Weapon emerged. We will look at the poetry, writing and songs that inspired his writing, and you will have the opportunity to share and discuss all that has inspired you.
LUNCH & NATURE WALK
A nourishing meal, followed by a gentle walk on the land to breathe, digest, and reconnect.
THE INNER FOREST
An afternoon session looking into the mystery of our inner lives, and the unnamed magic we carry within. A gentle challenge to write about a truth we have been avoiding.
CREATIVE PRACTICE CIRCLE
A guided session to develop a short piece of your own — a song fragment, poem, reflection, or spoken piece. A supportive space for expression.
GROUP PERFORMANCE
We close the day with music. Sandy performs Your Love Is A Weapon, and the group is invited to sing, share, or simply listen.
